IBC Storage - Inver House Distillers

Inverhouse Distillers were able to dramatically reduce the floor space required to store their IBCs, as well as improving the safety, thanks to a specialist IBC push back racking system from Thistle System.

With IBCs being employed for a variety of uses in the whisky industry from transportation of smaller volumes of whisky to the storage of feints and chemicals, there is growing pressure to store them safely and efficiently.

Like many distilleries, the client was reluctant to store the IBCs any more than two high, particularly when they contained premium whisky ready for transportation.

However, with available height in the building, the company asked Thistle Systems to look at a high density IBC storage solution which could increase capacity and reduce the required floor space.

The specialist IBC push back racking enables the IBCs to be stored 4 high and 6 IBCs wide to provide 24 picking faces.

And with the ability to store 5 deep, the company are now able to store 120 IBCs in just 55 square metres with complete peace of mind.

MAX FACTS

• 120 IBCs stored in just 55 Square Metres
• Enables IBCs to be stored 4 high – maximising available height
• Provides 24 picking faces to accommodate batches
• Quick and efficient loading and unloading of IBCs
• Dramatically improves health and safety in area
