Working in conjunction with Thistle Systems, who carried out the initial project in 2018 to store 120 Hogsheads Casks, Lindores reconfigured the existing racking to create a new storage area which will provide them with the ability to accommodate a total of 436 Hogsheads plus an additional 120 Butts.
Lindores Maturation Warehouse
Whilst safety has always been paramount in the whisky industry, there is now also a renewed focus on the materials being handled in the grain to glass process. Thistle Systems therefore designed the cask racking system to be capable of storing the casks entirely by mechanical means, minimising the manual material handling during the loading and unloading process.

Designed by legendary consultant, Dr Jim Swan, Lindores brings together a fusion of old and new to create an immersive visitor experience with innovative features such as heated panels in the warehouse to control the ambient temperature in the facility and therefore assist with the maturation process.
